This back stuff is a pain in the...
It's gotten pretty unbearable. In the beginning, there wasn't an awful lot of pain, mostly just a strange tingling, and a sort of constant, dull ache. Over the past couple of weeks, it's progressed to the point where any time I step on my left leg, I feel the pain all the way down to my knee, and all the way up my back. Not very fun.
I had to stay home from work yesterday, it was so bad. I cried and cried, and tried to tell Stephen that I could do it (work) but when I tried to get up and get ready, I realized that he was right, and I couldn't. There are good days and bad days, and yesterday was most definitely a bad day.
Thank GOD for my amazing husband. When I woke up (for the second time) yesterday, he was up, and on the phone with my doctor. He was able to get me more pain medication, and set up a nice spot for me on the couch. He took care of me until he had to leave for work, and got me totally set up with everything I could have needed. So sweet.
Last night, I made these thyme & feta cheese lamb chops that Elly posted on her blog a while back, and OH.MY.GOD. they were delicious. I've never cooked lamb chops at home before, and let me tell ya... EASY!! The entire meal took about 10 minutes, which was awesome because my back couldn't have handled much more.
Mmmmmmmmmm. Lamb chops.
This was probably one of my favorite meals I've made! I'm still a complete amateur at snapping pictures of food (SO much harder than you'd think!!) but you get the idea.
So ANYWAY. I'm still waiting to hear back about the MRI. I think I'll call the people again today, and try to find out what the hold-up is. I'm ready to know what's wrong!!
When I got to work this morning, there was an email in my inbox from my boss, reminding everyone that we're off tomorrow. WOOHOO! I had no idea!! What a pleasant surprise! I'm glad she told us, though, because I totally would've been here, looking like a dumbass.
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be up for any hoopla this weekend... probably no fireworks, etc. If yesterday and today are at all indicative of how I'll be feeling over the next few days, I'll be stuck on the couch, being frustrated.
I need a back-y-otomy!! STAT!
